お盆を過ぎ、少しずつ季節が秋へ向かっている……とはいえ、まだまだ暑い日が続いていますね。
香川県でも日中は厳しい暑さが続いていますが、DELICIOUS GARAGEの実店舗では、暑さに負けず少しずつ準備を進めています。
現在、いよいよMINI-Zの常設サーキット製作に取り掛かっています。サーキットは、ただ走るためのコースを作るだけではなく、実際にお店へ足を運んでいただいた方が、「ここで走らせてみたい」と思ってもらえること。そして、初めてMINI-Zに触れる方にも、「こんなに本格的に遊べるんだ」と感じてもらえること。そんな場所を目指して、一つひとつ手作業で作っています。
コースの土台を作り、材料を切り出し、組み立てて……。
頭の中では完成形が見えていても、実際に作ってみると「ここはもう少しこうした方がいいな」と気付くことも多く、なかなか思った通りには進みません（笑）。
それでも、自分で手を動かして形になっていく過程は楽しいです。
MINI-Zは小さなクルマですが、走らせる場所によって楽しみ方は大きく変わります。
ただ速く走るだけではなく、ライン取りを考えたり、ブレーキやアクセルの使い方を工夫したり、クルマをセットアップしたり。
そして、同じコースを走る仲間と「あそこ難しいよね」「今のラインはうまくいった！」と話したり。
そんな時間まで含めて楽しめる場所にしたいと思っています。
今回作っているサーキットが、これからMINI-Zを始める方にとっての入口になり、昔MINI-Zで遊んでいた方にとっては「またやってみようかな」と思える場所になれば嬉しいです。
まだまだではございますが、完成までの道のりも、できるだけこのブログで紹介していきたいと思います。
「お店ができてから行こう」と思っている方も、ぜひ完成していく過程を一緒に楽しんでいただければと思います。暑い日が続きますので、皆さまも体調には十分お気を付けください。
Obon has passed, and we are gradually moving toward autumn. However, the days are still very hot here in Japan.
In Kagawa, the daytime temperatures remain quite high, but here at the DELICIOUS GARAGE store, we are steadily moving forward with preparations despite the heat.
We have finally started working on the permanent MINI-Z racing circuit.
For us, this circuit is not simply a place where people can drive their MINI-Z.
We want visitors to come into the shop and think,
“I want to drive here!”
We also want people who are experiencing MINI-Z for the first time to discover just how much fun—and how serious—this little car can be.
That is the kind of place we are trying to create, building everything carefully by hand, one step at a time.
We are building the foundation, cutting materials, assembling the structure, and gradually bringing the circuit to life.
Even when you have the finished design clearly pictured in your head, things don't always go exactly as planned once you start building.
There are many moments when I realize, “Maybe this part would work better this way.”
It is definitely taking longer than I expected.
But at the same time, there is something really enjoyable about working with my own hands and watching the idea in my head slowly become a real place.
MINI-Z is a small car, but the way you enjoy it can change dramatically depending on the circuit you drive on.
It's not just about driving as fast as possible.
You can think about your racing line, experiment with how you use the brakes and throttle, and fine-tune your car's setup.
And, of course, there is the fun of talking with other drivers:
“That section is really difficult, isn't it?”
“That line worked perfectly!”
We want DELICIOUS GARAGE to be a place where people can enjoy all of those moments—not just the driving itself.
We hope that the circuit we are building will become a starting point for people who are new to MINI-Z, while also giving those who enjoyed MINI-Z in the past a reason to say,
“Maybe I'll give it another try.”
There is still a long way to go, but we would like to share as much of the journey toward completion as possible through this blog.
