朝晩は少しずつ過ごしやすくなり、まだ暑さは残っているものの、少しずつ秋の気配を感じられるようになってきました。
DELICIOUS GARAGEの実店舗づくりも、少しずつですが確実に前へ進んでいます。
今回の進捗は、現在製作を進めているMINI-Z常設サーキットです。
前回のブログでは、コース製作に取り掛かったことをご紹介しましたが、今回はその後の進捗をご紹介したいと思います。
まず、コース全体をイメージし、コースレイアウトを考えていきました。
そして、コースを構成する各パーツの切り出し作業。全体を確認しながら寸法を出し、一つひとつ材料を加工していきます。
数が多くなると、同じようなパーツでも微妙な寸法の違いが出ないように気を付けなければならず、作っては修正したりで、思っていた以上に時間のかかる作業でした。
そして、切り出したパーツを組み合わせながら、コースの大まかな配置が完成しました。
ここまで来ると、これまで頭の中で描いていたサーキットのイメージが、実際の形として見えてきます。
まだコースとしては完成していませんが、各部のパーツができたことで「本当にここでMINI-Zが走るんだな」と、少し実感が湧いてきました。
そして今回、もう一つ進んだのがコースバリアの塗装です。
コースバリアは、ただコースアウトを防ぐためのものではなく、サーキット全体の雰囲気を左右する重要な部分でもあります。そこで、リアリティがあるカラーでコース全体が引き締まって見えるように、土台はブラック、コースバリアはスチールグレーの組み合わせをしました。
実際に塗装してみると、材料の状態だったものが一気に「サーキットらしく」なっていきます。この瞬間は、DIYでサーキットを作っているからこそ味わえる楽しさかもしれません。
大変だったのは、走行路面のチリ合わせです。1～2mmの段差でも走行に影響が出るので、合板の節部分はパテ埋めし、微妙な高さはスペーサーで整えていきました。
ここからまだまだ作業は続きます。路面の仕上げやバリアの設置、コースレイアウトの調整など、完成までにはやることがたくさんあります。
特に実際にMINI-Zを走らせたときに、
「ここはもう少し広くした方がいい」
「このコーナーはもう少し難しくした方が面白い」
といった部分が出てくる可能性もあります。
図面の上では分からないことを、実際に作りながら一つずつ確認していく。
そんな試行錯誤も、今回のサーキット製作の楽しみの一つだと思っています。
完成したサーキットを見ていただくのももちろん嬉しいですが、こうして何もないところから少しずつ形になっていく過程も、ぜひ一緒に楽しんでいただければと思います。
まだ完成まではもう少し時間がかかりますが、「走れるサーキット」から「走りたくなるサーキット」へ。
DELICIOUS GARAGEらしいMINI-Zサーキットを目指して、引き続き製作を進めていきます。

The MINI-Z Circuit Is Slowly Taking Shape
The mornings and evenings have started to feel a little more comfortable, and although the heat of summer is still lingering, we can gradually feel the arrival of autumn.
The development of the DELICIOUS GARAGE physical store is also moving forward, little by little but steadily.
This time, we'd like to share an update on the permanent MINI-Z racing circuit that we are currently building.
In our previous blog post, we introduced the beginning of the circuit construction. Today, we'd like to show you how things have progressed since then.
First of all, we have completed cutting all of the individual parts that make up the circuit.
After checking the overall design and dimensions, we carefully measured and cut each piece of material.
As the number of parts increased, it became important to make sure that even similar-looking pieces had exactly the right dimensions.
It took considerably more time and effort than I initially expected.
We then began putting the cut pieces together, and the rough layout of the entire circuit is now complete.
At this stage, the image of the circuit that had previously existed only in my head is finally starting to take shape in the real world.
The circuit is still far from finished, but seeing all the individual parts coming together has finally made me realize:
“MINI-Z cars are really going to be racing here.”
Another major step forward this time was **painting the circuit barriers.
The barriers are not simply there to prevent cars from running off the track. They are also an important part of the overall atmosphere and appearance of the circuit.
We wanted to create a realistic look while giving the entire circuit a clean and cohesive appearance, so we chose a combination of black for the base and steel gray for the circuit barriers.
